This message is for Dat and anyone else who’s gotten shut off their email. I called LAUSD tech support. Apparently, your teacher can reset your password for you. There are 2 problems with this:
1. Your teacher needs to be at school to do this; it can’t be done outside of the school for security reasons.
2. Only your teacher can do it, and I might not “count” as that anymore.
So, I will try for you next week.
BTW, could someone PLEASE try to add to the Wiki?

What happens when you try to post on the wiki? Do you need a working email? If that’s the problem, I have an idea that might work. I’m showing the teachers how it works the week after next, so I’d like to be able to say, “Look how cool this is and my students have posted all sorts of stuff!” Come on guys, make me look good;)

I suppose the same rules as the blog. You can create your own pages on topics that interest you. You can add pictures or video. Just try it and let me know if you can get it to work!

Who are “They”? The wikispace people? If that’s the problem, set up another email account for yourself at gmail. You won’t be able to use it at school, but use it at home. Then, register for wikispaces and give that as your email. That should work. If this is not your problem, let me know.

Then, just as an experiment, click on “Honor Code” Click on edit this page. Answer my question. Click save. That’s all there is to it.

Now, make a new page. It doesn’t have to be rocket science. You’re just learning how to do this. Say you make a page on a t.v. show or a graphic novel or a new movie. Just write some stuff and save it. All the pages we make will be in the hzana space on wikispaces

BTW, back to the epals topic: I can reset your password when I go to school, which may be this week Tues or Wed and for sure will be next Mon, cause that’s when I’m teaching the teachers about wikis and blogs.

See comment #17. Just click “New Page” in blue under actions. Adding the page to the navigation bar is another step I believe, which is confusing (or at least it was to me until I figured it out).

Let’s say you make a new page and you call it “Summer Movies” No one will be able to find your page unless it shows up in the navigation. To put it on that list, click “edit navigation” Now comes from confusing part. You have to write your command in HTML code. Yikes! Don’t worry, all that means is you write [[Summer Movies]] Make sure you use the brackets next to the P on your keyboard. Then, hit save, and it will magically show up on the navigation bar.

Excellent question. I’m not sure. You can delete all the content by editing the page. You can pretty much hide it by editing the navigation and removing it from there. But, I haven’t found a way to change the page title. I will investigate that.

O.K. Looks like I can delete or rename a page on the space by going to “Manage Space” ad “List Pages” but I don’t think you can since it’s not your space (it’s MINE!)
