September 06 SAS Chat
Back by popular demand, it’s the world famous SAS Chat, second edition. Here is what I told my students last year:
Since all my other posts are about classwork, I thought we needed a spot where you could post random comments about non-school stuff. Keep it appropriate, since I can read it, as can anyone who finds this site. But, it doesn’t need to be serious or spelled correctly.
UPDATED RULES: No flaming (insulting). No scrolling (writing the same thing over and over again on a bunch of lines. Be aware that this chat is NOT PRIVATE. Make sure that what you are saying can be read be anyone out there in Internet Land.
I’m also going to add: chatting is not to be done in class when you have work to be doing, or if the person you are writing to has work to be doing. Since most of the time you’ll have work to do, this means you’ll be doing most of your chatting from home.
Last year I said that this was a place just for you guys, but then it turned out that lots of people wanted to ask me questions here, so that’s O.K. too. I’m online most evenings, but never on Friday night or Saturday during the day.
