Reading 1.1

Standard: Read aloud narrative and expository text fluently and accurately and with appropriate pacing, intonation, and expression.

1. narrative – a text that tells a story
2. expository – text about real things; non-fiction
3. text – written stuff
4. fluently – quickly, without mistakes
5. accurately – no mistakes
6. appropriate – right, correct, good
7. pacing – how quick or slow something is done
8. intonation – a tone of voice; high or low
9. expression – a tone of voice; excited, angry, happy, etc.

Kid Friendly: Know how to read aloud well, both made up stories and real things. Read quickly, without mistakes, and with lots of expression in your voice.
